What is an asset?
Materials supplied for the use of production output are called resources. Each resource has a representational value depending on availability and demand, and are controlled by businesses and economic institutions. Resources can also be commercially traded between entities (commoditization). An asset is a commoditized resource with the ability to produce positive economic merit.
